Record attendance for October Business Month 2015!
The figures are in and the 21st October Business Month (OBM) is officially a record-breaker.
Over 9300 people attended 183 OBM events in 2015, eclipsing the previous record of 9005 attendees set last year.
It has been a brilliant year for October Business Month and its success is a credit not only to the organisations that took part but also the entire Northern Territory business community and residents for supporting the program.
The program has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1994 when it was originally known as Small Business Month with 699 people attending 12 organised events.
In 2015 it attracted the largest and most prestigious list of inspirational keynote speakers in more than two decades including: Olympic gold medallist and businessman Steven Bradbury, renowned chef and restaurateur Matt Moran, author and Editor in Chief of Collect Magazine Lisa Messenger, founder of RedBalloon Naomi Simson and motivational business speaker Li Cunxin otherwise known as Mao's Last Dancer.
Another of the highlights was Bernard Salt's informative and inspirational talk on Northern Australia in 2050.
The month-long program of educational and motivational business events included dinners, award ceremonies, seminars, business breakfasts, cocktail receptions, leadership events, conferences and workshops.
In 2015 there was a strong focus on women in leadership, Indigenous business, finance, marketing, social media, business technology and business in Asia.
OBM is a unique celebration of business in all its forms and is about showcasing business smarts, innovation and sharing inspiration to help our economy prosper.
Thankyou to the 2015 OBM sponsors, partners and attendees for your support and making this year's event a fantastic success.
